Ames Auto Repair

I have used this auto repair establishment for 34 years, from when it was Chuck and Tom, to Jason, and now Larry. Through 3 owners, the service has always been terrific. We buy our cars to keep, and these guys have kept our vehicles in terrific shape, and then as they get older, they tell us what needs to be fixed and what could be let go because the car's future life would not justify the expense. Could not ask for a better repair shop.

I have always taken my cars to Eastman Autocare. Larry is knowledgeable and courteous. He cares about my car's performance and recommends repairs with consideration for my safety. The work is quick and efficient.

These guys were extremely helpful when my daughter was in a bind. Her car broke down north of Ames on I35 on her way back to college in Kansas. I called them without having worked them before and they were willing to get her in at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon. They fixed the issue and had her on the road under a couple of hours and were very affordable and very honest. I highly recommend Larry and the team at Eastman Auto Care. If I lived in Ames, this would be my new auto repair place. We live in Minneapolis. Overall, a very positive experience!

They are very fair and honest. I have also found them to be timely and communicative, and they treated me like I was a somewhat intelligent human being instead of assuming that since I am a woman I know nothing.

I have officially found my mechanic. I have been here for two years now going from one place to the next to find decent, reliable, friendly service. Well guess what? This is what you will find here. The owner never gets rude. He never makes you feel as if you are wasting his time or that he is too busy for you. All the prices are explained in detail. Although they might not be the cheapest in town, I would rather spend a bit extra to be treated like a person and not like a cash cow.

Best spot in town to get your vehicle worked on. When I moved from small town Iowa to come to school here 4 years ago, I didn't have a local mechanic that I trusted to work on my car. I knew the previous owner of Jensen's Car Tech and asked him his opinion where to get my cars worked on. He told me to go to his old shop (Jensen's) because he had sold it to one of the kids that had worked for him forever. The service at Jensen's is outstanding. They are very far on their prices and provide you with an excellent service. They explain to you what is wrong with you car, what probably caused your issues, and fix your car very fast. I have taken both of my cars along with my wife's car to Jensen's and we always take them there as long as I live in the area.

I stopped in after my car was caught in a flash flood in Ames. I asked them for an oil change, grease service, and to check over my car for anything that could go wrong after being in water. They were extremely polite and thorough, and gave my poor car a clean bill of health (when they could have easily sold me on fixes I did not need). It's a small shop, and I got the level of personal service that is simply nonexistent among today's chain stores. When I watched them work in the shop or talk with other customers - they seemed so genuine and honest. They will definitely be getting my business and recommendations in the future.
